Character Education
It's not just about what we want you to learn - it's about who we want you to be.
Education for Character is an integral part of our School Vision and Ethos. We believe in providing a rigorous, challenging and inclusive curriculum that works alongside outstanding personal development opportunities. This vision contributes to forming well-educated and rounded children that are ready to face everyday challenges and experiences.
At All Saints' we follow Character Education guidance from the DfE as well as working with the Association of Character Education to achieve the Character Education Kitemark.
We teach Character using a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular activities. These include worships, subject lessons, sports, performance arts clubs, hobby clubs, educational visits, educational visitors, cultural capital events (Poetry Slam, Calderdale Young Voices), intergenerational projects, links with the Church and links with our community (singing at the hospital, visiting the local bookshop) .....and many more!!! These opportunities help our children to express and explore their character and build the skills they need for empathy, resilience and stickability.
At All Saints', we know how important it is to be able to work independently and develop our stickability skills. Here is what we do if we need help with our work -
